I was reading the comments on a random Facebook post – as one does – and the author of one comment suggested that it was not worth talking to ‘a sub 105’. By this he meant, I can only presume, someone with an IQ of less than 105.
It seems to me an obvious injustice to reduce a person and their worth to a number, but I found this all the more objectionable because that number comes from an area of academic psychology of which I am deeply sceptical.
Seeing the comment reminded me though that I was going to do a deeper study of theories of intelligence and issues related to its measurement. So I have begun the research on that and will update here as I learn things.
